A thirty-second ad for a product that doesn't exist, built from a short story that does.
How this whole thing started.
Before there was an ad, there was a story.
Clara is eight. Her mom, Lila, works the kind of hours that pay the rent and quietly pocket your joy as a service fee. Clara noticed. Eight-year-olds always notice.
So Clara did what any sensible adventurer would do: she opened her closet and found a whole world in there. She travels it with a trusted crew — Harumph, an elephant of unimpeachable integrity, and Mazie, a vintage doll her mother loved back when loving things was easier. Every land Clara visits, she brings something home. The shelf fills up. The worlds add up.
The SnoutShine stone is one of those souvenirs — the one she brought back for her mom. Because if the world worked the joy out of Lila, Clara figured she'd simply go get more. That's what the closet is for.
(And someday, maybe, Clara's adventures become a YouTube channel — for kids, and for any adult whose joy is also being quietly pocketed.)
